What Should a Plumbing Website Cost?
A plumbing website can cost a few hundred dollars or tens of thousands, which makes the usual price question almost impossible to answer without defining the job. A five-page brochure, a complete service and local-search system, and a custom site tied to lead intake are different products. The useful comparison is not the opening price alone. It is what the company owns, what the site must do, and how much ongoing attention it receives.
Price the scope before the number
Count the pages that need original strategy and copy: emergency plumbing, drains, water heaters, leak detection, repiping, financing, service areas, and project proof. Then account for photography, review migration, analytics, forms, call tracking, accessibility, technical SEO, and integrations. If those items are missing from one proposal, it is not actually cheaper than a proposal that includes them; it is simply smaller.
Know what happens after launch
Ask who owns the domain, content, design, and accounts; how edits are handled; whether hosting and maintenance are included; and what happens if the relationship ends. A low monthly price can be reasonable when it funds real support. It becomes expensive when the company cannot move the site, update urgent information, or see its own performance data.
Work backward from one qualified job
Estimate the gross profit from a representative mix of repairs and larger projects, then ask how many additional qualified jobs would cover the annual website cost. Track calls and requests through to booked work, not just traffic. A site that produces the right repipe or water-heater opportunities can outperform a cheaper site that generates more low-fit inquiries.
A clean proposal should make comparison easy
- One-time and recurring costs
- Exact deliverables and page count
- Ownership and cancellation terms
- Launch timeline and client responsibilities
- Measurement, maintenance, and update process
